The Java SE 6 (Mustang) Holiday Quiz

Accidentally (once again, wow, it's crazy) I've taken an Java SE 6 (Mustang) Holiday Quiz. What was my surprise, when the results shown that I've missed only 2 (out of 12) questions (one was my obvious fault). I haven't expected such result. Well - maybe I just feeled what was needed to improve in J6. :-)

I've been taking my laundry out of washing machine, when accidentally (so many things in my life happens by an accident recently) I've heard Mr. Pospieszalki in the TV (who is this guy ? - see here or here - both links in Polish). The show name is "Warto rozmawiac" - what can be translated as "It's worth to talk".

Pospieszalski is an right-wing guy (if right-wing isn't too left for him). I don't know what supposed to be the original purpose of his show, but what I saw was a fully blown government propaganda. The guests were all saying how good it is that we're having a new government, and that "Poles were so thirsty of rules of law" (what is supposedly to happen now). No single word of critics. And the best of all, it was on a public TV channel!

Currently, there's a discussion in Poland about ethics in media. Samoobrona (leftists party) has enforced new media law, which anticipates many penalties for unethical media appearances.

I'm soo afraid of a direction that this country is slowly aiming at...

New Years Eve

The party was rather quiet. Both me and Strateg had a very exhausting evening day before (so called 'New Years Eve Eve'). Ciejkins had to drive a car next morning and me and Olaf were going to work on the monday. Our old friend Grzesiek had sidestepped us, and spend the night with his fiancee friend.

Anyway, maybe the party was a little quiet, but it will be remembered as a very good one.

...so it's good time to post after almost one year long break from blog-spot blogging.

I've been yesterday in a cinema. "The Station Agent" - definietely worth viewing. It reminded me
the "Garden State" and "Closer", which I personally consider as one of the best films made in last 10 years. I see this movies as a proof that americans can make great, intelligent and emotional films.

Recently I've found interesting reading - The SANS Top 20 Internet Security Vulnerabilities. Some kind of must-read for programmers or system administrators. Oh, here is another one - Secure programmer: Prevent race conditions.

By the way, I've finally, successfully, completed my 4-th year of studies... That's amazing that I'm here in Cracow for 4 years already. So many things have happened during this time... Anyway, it seems that nostalgia catches me up. I'm getting back to work on my Master Thesis.

September Rush

I'm finishing my delayed projects. When I look at my Multi-Agent Plans of Virtual Companies system (created as my studies project for "Multi-Agent Systems" course), I wonder what was path of my thoughts. At the moment I'm trying to figure out how I managed to create such complicated system. :-) Basically, everything works fine, but there are still some warning messages which shouldn't occur. And debugging in multi-agent environment is a Tough-Thing [TM].

Anyway, I remember how on 'Network Systems' lessons I was thinking "this tcp protocol is so complicated sometimes, why haven't yet anybody invented something which is simple and works much better ?!". :)

Atlantic Feelings

At the moment she should see the Atlantic Ocean (if there won't be too many clouds). I'm getting ready for her arrival. Just a couple of hours makes the distance between me and her. My excitation is extremely high. It will be hard for me to get sleep this night. Maybe a little bit of wine will help.

It has been almost 2 months since she disapeared from my landscape. As always in such situations, nothing wasn't like you expected it will be.

But tommorow she will be back. And this is good. Very good...

Headlines of today cnn.com news say: Clinton to have bypass surgery. God damn'it, this must be really important. Let's forget about hundreds of killed kids in Beslan.... Thay have died probably because of indolence and stupidity of own (Russian) troops. Life in Russia never wasn't worth much.

Scents

How often do you feel some scent and immadietely your mind is blown by hundreds of images and feelings? It happens to me once for a while.

Just a few moments ago I went outdoors and felt this specific indian-summer-in-a-city scent. My mind was full of emotions and feelings. But it took a while (and a walk) until I remembered time when I felt similar scent so deeply, that it rested in my memory and today has been recalled.

Feelings. Something new and exciting. A lot of possibilities. First year of my studies. First days, to be precise. Enlisting in dormitory. Meeting a lot of new people. Starting new friendships. First classess. Parties and drinking beer. Going to places where I have never been before. Beginning of new life...

Everything recalled by one scent. It's amazing how simple things in life can be beautiful and essential.
